Roy Pattishall was a cofounder of Global
Translation Systems of Chapel Hill, NC, a leading provider of technical translations
to North American corporations. As Vice President in charge of the Spanish
division, he was responsible for overall operational management of all the
company's work in that language pair from 1992 to 1995. Special areas of
concentration included telecommunications, pharmaceuticals, computers,
textiles, and consumer goods. Since
1995, he has freelanced translation work for various clients. In 2002 he served
as managing editor for the Journal of Spanish Cultural Studies. He holds both
the MA degree (Romance Languages) and the BA degree (English/Spanish) from the
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His Web site is currently under
